Norwegów najbardziej zainteresował Młodzieżowy i Zielony Budżet Obywatelski.

Another visit of the delegation from our partner county of Nordland
From 25th to 29th of September, for the third time in our city, we had the pleasure of hosting a delegation from the Nordland County in Norway. The visit formed part of the Partnership established as part of the project ‘Lomza - the City where I Live and Work’, financed by the Norwegian Financial Mechanism 2014-2021. This time, the focus was on environmental issues, as well as youth and vocational education. The county was represented by, among others, Nordland County Council Members, Christian Torset, Councillor for Culture, Climate and Environment and Fredric Persson, Councillor for Education.
During the official meeting with the Lomza City authorities, in addition to summarising the cooperation so far and bilateral visits, there was an official unveiling of a signpost to Nordland, being a partner local government county. Both sides expressed an interest in continuing the cooperation after the completion of the project.
As part of the environmental dimension, the visit included a workshop on the planned revitalisation of the city parks in Lomza – Jakub Waga and Ludowy Parks. Roar Hundstad from Nordland, an expert on maintenance of urban greenery, presented some of the most interesting solutions for the development and maintenance of parks and the challenges which they face up north in Norway.
The matter of young people entering the labour market was discussed at length at a meeting at the Lomza Academy, where experts from Lomza universities, the District Labour Office as well as the Department of Public Health and the Department of Education from Nordland discussed issues concerning the involvement of youth nowadays and how to involve young people in the community and the city. These topics were also the gist of the meeting about Lomza's Civic Budget, the 11 editions of which are a model of social participation for our Norwegian partner. The Norwegians were especially interested in the Youth and Green Civic Budget. By taking part in the event organised by ZSWiO No. 7 'Pupils of the Weta', the partners had the opportunity to directly explore the rich offer of vocational education in our city and the educational facilities of our institution.
Since a recent delegation from Lomza had the opportunity to see the FK Bodo/Glimt stadium and football club in Nordland, the delegation in Lomza similarly visited the Municipal Sports and Recreation Centre and the main sports facilities, i.e. the municipal stadium and the Aqua Park. The partners appreciated the quality of our sports infrastructure and the high level and number of sports events organised for the local residents.
In addition, the delegation had the opportunity to benefit from the great cultural offer of our city, visiting, among others, the North Mazovian Museum with its famous Abakanowicz exhibition and attending a concert of the Chamber Philharmonic inaugurating the artistic season.
Although the visit was the last one from the project, the cooperation established between the local authorities forecasts a promising future with opportunities to work together on new tasks.
